- The US is set to produce around 4.5m tonnes of beet sugar and 3.3m tonnes of cane sugar, which is less compared to last season.
- Oct-Sept US imports are around 911k tonnes under TRQs and 1.2m tonnes from Mexico.
- Domestic prices have been steady over the past month.
US Sugar production for the upcoming season is expected to decrease by around 1.4 m tonnes.

The major beet producing states are Minnesota, Idaho, North Dakota, and Michigan. Cane is produced in Florida, Louisiana, and Texas.
With a shortfall in production, there was an increase in imports coming in from Mexico.

In 2021/22 there was a total of 1.2m imports coming in from Mexico of these imports, 645k tonnes were raws and 518k tonnes were whites.
