What season stage are you at? Has the cane been harvested?

We are in full season. Approximately 70% of the sugarcane field has already been harvested. Maintenance of ratoon cane is up to date, following the progress of the harvest. The winter rains ended up negatively affecting operational efficiency of the harvest and the amount of ATR per ton of sugarcane.

Do you think there was a recovery in the cane fields this season?

Yes. The sugarcane field is doing better than in the past season, mainly due to the favorable weather. This year there was no occurrence of frost in the western region of São Paulo state, as happened in previous years.

How were the rains in your region this year?

In this season, the volume of rains in the region was higher and better distributed, significantly improving the appearance of the cane fields in relation to the previous crop.

Has there been an increase in the cost of maintenance of the fields?

Yes, mainly caused by the increase in the price of fertilizers, pesticides, and diesel oil.

Did you encounter problems in purchasing fertilizers this season? Besides the price increase?

Yes. The increase in prices, together with the restricted supply in the market and long delivery times ended up making it difficult to purchase the products.

What was your biggest concern this season?

In the agricultural area, it was trying to find similar products to replace products that were missing or that were priced too high, trying to keep the budget in order.
