Brazil Monthly Exports
- Recap disclosed this week showed that 1.32mmt sailed in December – almost 30% higher yoy;
- Still, looking at 2019 exports that totalled 14.9mmt it is the lowest volume since 2008;
- For January exports, only 143kmt of raws were nominated this week in CS;
- Current estimate of exports for this month reflects the high availability of sugar in CS, and not necessarily a strong demand;
- In NNE, total exports in December reached 117kmt – the lowest volume registered in 15 years;
- As for new nominations for January, 26.3kmt of raws were added to the region line up;
Destinations
- Exports in Q4’19 saw an improvement when compared to 2018, rising 7% ;
- Still, it is one of the lowest volumes since 2008;
- Out of the main destinations, Algeria stands out significantly almost doubling its offtake over the last quarter and ending 2019 with the higher offtake at 2.1mmt;
- Out of the new nominations this week, 25kmt for Morocco, taking total offtake so far to 57.55kmt;
- And 95kmt for Bangladesh, that is the main destination until now in Q1 with 156kmt;
