• Indian Refiners have had lots of refined sugar available for world market export this season while other re export refiners have been struggling.
  • This has been enabled by export subsidies providing cheap domestically produced raw sugar to the coastal refiners.
  • Recently the supply of domestic raws has run out and they have returned to buying world market sugar from Brazil.
  • Should export subsidies be reinstated next season we could see cheap world market refined exports return pressuring prices.
