  • Mexico’s forthcoming crop looks good, however, and should help ease some of the pressure on global supply.
  • Colombia’s demand has been very strong, and exports have increased this year, but around 40-60% of the fruit is going to ground at the moment.

Totapuri Mango Concentrate and Pulp

  • Production and growing conditions are both good.
  • Farmers are campaigning harder than usual for higher prices, and processors have reported good demand from the global market.
  • Most of the processed stock has been allocated and, as the crop goes on, further quantities can be processed upon demand in the following two weeks.
  • The expectation is that carryover stocks will be extremely limited in the following months, and production will effectively end in two weeks’ time.
  • The next crop will commence in May-June 2021.

Kenya

  • Unusually, Kenya has Ngowe (Totapuri) concentrate and pulp available for export. 

Mexico

  • Mexico’s crop is just around the corner and should help relieve the global supply shortfall with its Tommy Atkins variety.

Colombia

  • Quarantine measures have restricted access to some production areas and there is limited fruit storage capacity, high freight rates, vehicle shortages, etc. This means significant volumes of common mango were lost in the field. However, production from the crop is good, with the issue being that nearly 40-60% of the fruit is going to ground at the moment.
  • Between 75-120% of supply has already been sold forward mostly to USA and Europe, stock position is critical.
  • Exports increased by 14% from 2019.
