This is an update from some of Czarnikow’s suppliers and manufacturers, explaining how they are managing their production lines, feedstock and general safety amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Working as Normal, but Taking Precautions
- Manufacturers have indicated that feedstock supplies are coming in as usual.
- Production lines are following their regular schedules and work is continuing as normal.
- The number of staff on each shift has been minimised and steps are being taken to ensure a sanitary work environment.
- Veterinary certificates for dairy producers now require a Biohazard or Biosecurity Assessment in the report.
- At present, there is a general lack of human resource, which is causing transport delays and disrupting day-to-day logistics; we are aware of these issues and doing our best to work around them.
Some Updates from Our Ingredients Suppliers
UK Dairy Suppliers
- We have received reports stating that the delivery of feedstocks is going on as normal.
- In fact, there is a higher influx of raw milk demand due to the pandemic, which has led to an increase in production.
- The limitations UK dairy suppliers are facing are mostly to do with transportation and export flows.
- However, suppliers are following the APHA guidelines to ensure their production process and workforce remain safe.
Turkish Glucose, Starch and Dextrins Suppliers
- Glucose, Starch and Dextrins Suppliers in Turkey are taking all the necessary precautions in line with the Turkish Ministry of Health’s orders.
- During these unprecedented days, the factories continue to work 24/7 with all teams continuing to supply safely, responsibly and sustainably.
- The production system is fully automated so there is no human contact. Some companies also have a company doctor on call 24/7 with Quality and HR teams following up on employee health controls.
- Suppliers here are also taking various sanitary measures to ensure the safety of their employees and handlers.
Egyptian Glucose, Starch and Dextrins Suppliers
- An Egyptian Glucose and Starch Company have taken similar measures as above.
- There are no Government-mandated protocols in place at the moment, however.
- Feedstock is also working as normal.
- Some customers have requested auxiliary and raw material sanitation documentation.
- There are no major changes or limitations being experienced just yet.
