Crop 2021/22 – 1H July
Less cane, but as sweet as last year
- No big news, agricultural productivity data is still falling.
- Despite the small sampling (only 24 mills), a 14% drop in TCH – 68.2mtc/ha in this fortnight.
- On the other hand, the ATR remains strong, mitigating the effect of lower green mass.
- With the 143.63kg of ATR/mtc for the fortnight, so far the sector has had 34mmt of ATR for production: -6% compared to 20/21.
- And allied to the strong sugar mix, the total produced is 15.2mmt of sugar (-7.2% in 20/21).
And the Frost?
- In order to control the impacts of the frost, the mills had to change their harvesting schedule, prioritizing the areas affected by the weather event.
- UNICA itself believes that we will have more tangible data in the next fortnights.
- For now, we are on the lookout for possible sharper declines in agricultural productivity.
Prioritizing anhydrous
- As in previous fortnights, mills are preferring anhydrous production.
- In this fortnight, 889mi liters – 32% more compared to 20/21.
- Direct reflection of the pumps parity (74.7%) that favors gasoline and pushes demand for anhydrous.
