This Friday, the Official Gazette of the Union brought news for all tastes.

The CNPE published resolution nº 5, which determined the reduction to the marginal floor of 5% for fields and accumulations of hydrocarbons of the marginal economy. The Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) made available the draft of a second public consultation to review the physical guarantee of hydroelectric plants in 2022.

There were also orders from the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) with the calculation of the first fines for three plants in the emergency auction, which total more than R$ 25.14 together.

There was a flurry of second-quarter results from companies in the sector.

Take a look on the list: Auren Energia, Aeris Energy, CPFL Energia, Enauta, Energisa, Eneva, Light and Raízen.

It is worth mentioning about the last ordinary meeting of Aneel’s board of directors with Efrain Cruz and deputy director, Camila Bonfim.

The meeting began with a farewell atmosphere, but as sensitive issues began to be discussed the debate became tense.

Among the discussed topics, the focus was on the recalculation of indemnities for energy transmission companies, the RBSE and the revocation of grants for the thermoelectric plants of the Turkish Karpowership, which had been contracted during last year’s emergency auction – one of the fines we talked about at the beginning of this news.

It is also worth noting that the meeting approved the rules for granting power plants without an access opinion and the second phase of the public consultation on the operational criteria for a generation.

Next week, the board will have a new composition amid the challenging schedule , with Sandoval Feitosa taking over the general board, and Fernando Mosna, occupying the chair left by Cruz.

Regarding the teleconferences on the results of electric companies, the highlights were the effects of the return of PIS/Cofins credits and the position of companies on the subject, as in the case of Equatorial Energia, which reported a loss of R$ 170 million , and Copel , which reported a loss of R$ 522.4 million.

Another point addressed was the increase in renewable costs, as in the case of Alupar , which sees wind and solar above R$ 200/MWh.

Meanwhile, after the results of the second quarter, AES Brasil announced the purchase of 456 MW in wind power and an equity issue that aims to raise up to R$ 1.1 billion to finance the deal.

This week also came out the results of Taesa and PetroReconcavo , which wants to reinforce its natural gas strategy.
