What are you up to on the farm at present?

It’s wet, wet, wet and at present I’m sitting watching the rain fall, but before the rain set in, the season had kicked off with a good outlook and an optimistic CCS level.

While the weather was fine all our effort was focused on planting the fallow ground for next year’s crop.

The MSF factories are going well and that is commendable, but since Saturday both mills have been shut because of the rain as the field conditions are not conducive to harvesting.

What Stage is your Cane Crop At?

The crop is very promising with the sugar content at least one unit higher than this time last year, for example the Mulgrave mill area is harvesting 90 tonnes / hectare and the CCS is 12.5 at this stage.

undefined

What are you doing differently this year?

No big concerns at this stage we’re just waiting for the weather to clear so we can get back to harvesting and keep the crush going.
