Heaviest Rains in 40 Years

In 2021, we had the worst drought in 50 years. This year, we have the one of the highest levels of rainfall in 40 years. Heavy rain since late May has caused light-to-moderate floods in the cane fields. This requires us to strengthen cane field management. We need to drain waterlogged areas in a manner timely to reduce the impact. Weeding and applying fertiliser are also needed to restore the growth of sugarcane.
