- India produced 800k tonnes of sugar in the second half of April, bringing its seasonal total to 29.9m tonnes.
- With this, its total production to date is 1.9m tonnes lower than it was at the same point in 2018/19, where final production totalled 33m tonnes.
- We still think India will produce between 30 and 30.5m tonnes of sugar this season, with 106 sugar mills still operational (down from 112 last season).
