• The net spec position in Raw Sugar reversed its recent downward trend to rise sharply in the week up until the 23rd of February, increasing by 25k lots.
  • This change was driven by the opening of 22k new spec long positions, which helped to break the 18c mark, though prices have now fallen back towards 16c after the H expired at a 108 point premium to the K.
  • The almost 900k tonne delivery to the H expiry also meant that the commercial long and short positions fell significantly, by 42k and 27k respectively.
